And The Winner Is...Me!

Yes, in case you haven't heard, I have been awarded the "Worst Blogger of the Year" award! It was pretty much a given, since my nearest competitors were nowhere near the level of "Worst" that I was. You could say I was in a class by myself.

The award was presented in a private ceremony, by me, to me, in front of my dusty computer. I gave a short 'thank you' speech to myself and then thought about blogging about it, suddenly felt very lazy and decided against it (until now, obviously).

The truth is I've been incredibly busy lately doing that thing that writer's are supposed to do - writing. Just not on my blog, for which I feel very ashamed. I had stated previously that I was now going to be blogging a lot more often, when in fact the opposite has occurred. My intentions were good, but...well, we all know what the road to hell is paved with.

I promise I will do better in the future.

And look out for the upcoming release of my new short comedy adapted from my play "Cuthbert's Last Stand" coming very soon!

All of my time seems to be taken up at the moment by marketing my book. I never knew how much effort it would take. Actually, I suppose I should say, I never knew could much effort it could take, as no one has a gun to my head. But having adapted it and gone through the whole process of making it available, it would be silly to let it just sit there gathering e-dust. So I've been researching and nosing around all over the place to find out the most successful ways to get your book noticed. It's hard! Still, I've always loved a challenge, and until the fire in me turns to apathy I'll be doing all I can. If I find out anything that I think others may not be aware of, I'll be sure to post it. I just did a revamp of my book's cover. I think it's a bit more impacting now, and despite what adages tell us, we all fall victim to judging a book... I'm just now waiting for my Smashwords edition to be approved, so that should help. I read a lot of posts on Kindleb

A Rebel Among the Wretched

I’m pleased to report that my play “A Rebel Among the Wretched” has been selected for publication in the forthcoming anthology “The Best Ten-Minute Plays of 2016,” published by Smith & Kraus, Inc., edited by Lawrence Harbison. The play itself was a Heideman Award finalist and is one of my personal favorites, so I’m hoping this additional exposure will lead to many more productions in the coming years. This will be the 7th edition of Smith & Kraus’ “The Best Ten-Minute Plays” anthologies I’ll have had a play of mine included in, with 5 already in print, and the 6th (“The Best Ten-Minute Plays of 2015”) - which includes “The Craft” - due to be released next month.

Opening Night for "The Craft"

Tonight is (or I should say was in Australia at this point) the opening night for my short play "The Craft" at the Woy Woy Little Theatre on Australia's Central Coast, as part of their season of one act plays. I just want wish everyone involved in all three of the plays every success for the length of the run and I hope "The Craft" gets plenty of laughs. I also wanted to share this terrific graphic they've made for the show. Break a leg, all! I also heard word from the director of the recent New York reading of the play with Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company that it was a big hit with the audience, who "laughed their ***** off", according to reports. What more could I ask for?
